Lonely on the Road

Lonely on the Road

Lonely on the Road

They don’t tell you this in circus school:
Touring the world is exciting… until it isn’t.

After the applause fades, you’re alone in a hotel room, scrolling through photos of friends’ birthdays you missed, weddings you couldn’t attend, and family gatherings you watched through a screen.

Loneliness on the road is real. The job takes you everywhere—but also away from everyone.
The fix?
Stay connected intentionally – schedule regular video calls instead of “whenever we find time.”
Build a tour family – invest in friendships with cast and crew.

Bring a piece of home – a photo, a scent, a routine that grounds you.

This week’s challenge: Reach out to someone you miss—send them a voice note instead of a text. Let them hear you.

🎪 Your audience changes every night. Your people are the ones who stay the same.

P.S. The greatest standing ovation can’t replace the people who stand by you— make sure you keep them close.
