Frequently asked questions
What is AcroGrip Liquid Chalk?
AcroGrip Liquid Chalk is a high-performance grip aid that dries quickly on the skin to create a clean, long-lasting layer of friction. It’s made from a refined blend of magnesium carbonate, rosin, alcohol, and a cosmetic-grade thickening agent, giving you stronger, more reliable grip with less mess than traditional chalk. It works for any sport that needs more grip—calisthenics, weightlifting, rock climbing, gymnastics, pole, aerials, CrossFit, and any sport that needs better grip.
How is AcroGrip different from regular chalk or other liquid chalks?
AcroGrip combines the best qualities of chalk, magnesium, and rosin into one formula. This means:
- No mess — no powder, no transfer onto costumes or clothes
- Long-lasting — typically one application per session (45+ minutes)
- It dries almost transparently, so you don’t have obnoxiously white hands.
- Moisture-resistant — holds up against sweat better than other grip aids
- Skin-safe — tested on sensitive skin.
- Only 4 ingredients — no fillers, no unnecessary additives.
- Made in the USA using high-quality, cosmetic-grade materials.
It's chalk that actually stays on your hands.
How do I use AcroGrip?
- Wash and Dry hands thoroughly
- Apply a small dime-sized amount to your hands.
- Spread a light layer across palms, fingers, and anywhere that needs grip.
- Let it dry for a few seconds (wave or blow to speed it up).
- Train as normal.
For best results: apply at the start of your session, not when you’re already dripping in sweat. If you're very sweaty or in humid conditions, got to step 1.
Does AcroGrip dry white like other liquid chalks or magnesium powder?
No, one of the biggest advantages of AcroGrip is that it dries nearly transparent.
While traditional powdered chalk and most liquid chalks leave a thick, bright white layer on your skin (or worse, all over your clothes and equipment), AcroGrip dries into a clean, subtle finish that doesn’t look chalky or messy.
This makes it ideal for:
- Performers in costume
- Pole dancers
- Aerialists
- Gymnasts
- Professional shows
- Anyone who prefers grip without the white residue
You get the strong, long-lasting friction of chalk and rosin without the embarrassing white hands.

What ingredients are in AcroGrip?
AcroGrip contains:
Magnesium carbonate, Rosin, Cosmetic-grade thickening agent, Isopropryl Alcohol.
Can I refill the 3oz bottle with the 8oz bottle?
Yes! The 3oz Travel Bottle is designed to be refilled from the larger 8oz bottle. It saves money, reduces waste, and keeps your training bag lighter. Many athletes use the 8oz bottle at home and refill the 3oz as needed.
Is AcroGrip safe for sensitive skin or allergies?
Yes. AcroGrip uses only four high-quality ingredients and is safe for most skin types, including sensitive skin. If you’re unsure or have a history of skin sensitivities, we recommend doing a small patch test on the inside of your wrist first.Note: Rosin is derived from tree resin, so avoid use if you have a known pine or tree-sap allergy.
Will AcroGrip damage costumes or equipment?
No. AcroGrip is mess-free, non-powdery, and doesn’t transfer onto:
Costumes, Fabric, Bars, Canes, Aerial apparatus, Poles, Flooring.
It leaves minimal residue compared to block chalk and other liquid chalks or grip aids.
Is AcroGrip sticky?
No, AcroGrip doesn’t feel sticky when applied like a rosin spray. However as you start to warm up and sweat, the rosin activates to provide a controlled, light tackiness that enhances grip without ever feeling glue-like. This is what gets AcroGrip to last so long.
How should I store AcroGrip?
Store AcroGrip with the cap sealed tightly to prevent evaporation. Keep the bottle upright when possible and avoid leaving it in hot cars or direct sunlight for long periods, as extreme heat can thicken the formula. Room temperature is ideal. Always shake the bottle before use, especially if left for more than a couple of days.
How long does AcroGrip take to dry?
Typically 5–10 seconds. In very humid environments, it may take slightly longer.
Can I use AcroGrip on my feet or other parts of the body?
Yes. Many circus artists use it on hands, feet, ankles, necks or anywhere better grip is needed.

What is a question customers frequently have?
Use this text to answer common question or provide organized content about product features or details.
Why does liquid chalk smell like… that?
Liquid chalk formulas contain alcohol so the chalk dries instantly—this creates a strong scent that evaporates quickly. Ours is milder than most and we continue to refine it with our manufacturer. Some other brands have fun smelling scents like citrus or grape, however we didn't want to do this as scents are oil based and oil is slippery. We are after the best grip aid not the best perfume.
What if I don’t like it?
We offer a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. Just email us at contact@acrogrip.com within 90 days of your purchase and we’ll take care of you.
Can I drink AcroGrip?
Please don’t. Your stomach does not need extra grip.
Is AcroGrip vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. AcroGrip contains no animal products and is not tested on animals. All ingredients are mineral- or plant-derived, making it fully vegan and cruelty-free.
Is AcroGrip allowed in my gym or studio?
Most gyms and studios do allow liquid chalk, especially because it’s cleaner than powdered chalk and doesn’t leave residue like rosin sprays. AcroGrip is mess-free and equipment-safe, so it is approved in most circus spaces, calisthenics gyms, CrossFit boxes, and climbing gyms. If your facility bans powder chalk, liquid chalk like AcroGrip is typically the recommended alternative.
