Plateaus Are Proof You’re Doing It Right
Plateaus Are Proof You’re Doing It Right
Plateaus can feel frustrating.
You show up, train consistently, and nothing seems to change. Skills feel the same. Progress feels slow. It’s easy to wonder if something is wrong.
But plateaus are often where real adaptation happens.
Your body is organizing new patterns. Your nervous system is learning efficiency. Strength and coordination are stabilizing beneath the surface before the next visible step appears.
Growth isn’t constant acceleration. It comes in phases of learning, consolidation, and then breakthrough.
Most artists quit or change direction during the consolidation phase because it feels unproductive. In reality, it’s necessary.
🎯 Weekly Challenge:
Choose one skill you feel “stuck” on and approach it this week with curiosity instead of urgency. Focus on quality, not outcome.
P.S. I remember nearly changing direction on a skill because it felt pointless to keep going. Two weeks later it suddenly worked, and nothing about my effort had changed. Only patience had.
