The Power of the Exit
Every trick has a beginning, middle, and end. But too often, we focus so much on getting the skill that we forget about the landing. A clean exit isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about control, injury prevention, and professionalism.
When you finish a skill with stability, you show the audience (and yourself) that you were in charge the whole time. Think of it like punctuation in a sentence. A strong period at the end makes everything before it more impactful. A sloppy finish? It makes even a great trick feel incomplete.
Next time you train, don’t just land—stick it, hold it, and exit intentionally. Treat your dismount like part of the trick, not an afterthought.
💡 Your challenge this week: Record yourself landing a skill and watch the playback. Does your exit look polished? If not, try adjusting your focus and intention in the final second of the move.
PS - This mindset works beyond circus. How you finish anything—training, conversations, even your day—matters just as much as how you start.
